Fire breaks out in nine places of Saptari

By Our Correspondent, Rajbiraj, Apr 5: Property worth around Rs 500,000 was destroyed by fire which broke out in nine different places of Saptari on Saturday.

The fire broke out in nine different places of Bodebarsain Municipality, Dakneshwori Municipality, Kanchanrup Municipality, Khadak Municipality,
Surunga Municipality and Rupani Gaunpalika.

According to police, there were no human casualties due to the fire which destroyed sheds, crops and straw stacks. However, domesticated animals such as cows, goats and hens died due to the fire.

The shed in Behchan Mandal’s residence at Ward 9 of Bodebarsain Municipality was one of the places destroyed by fire.

Similarly, one straw stack each of Sewak Thakur, Siya Thakur, Brahmadev Thakur, Dharmadev Thakur and Indra Thakur of Ward 6 of Bodebarsain was swallowed by fire.

“A fire in the shed of Rajlal Mahato, a residence of Ward 9 of Dakneshwori Municipality, due to short circuit destroyed the shed and crops such as rice and wheat. Around Rs 150,000 worth of property got destroyed there,” said Deputy Superintendent of Police Tilak Bharati, spokesperson of Saptari District Police.

Three different straw stacks belonging to Mohammed Jiwari, Mohammad Ajij and Mohammad Sudin at Ward 3 of Dakneshwori Municipality also
caught fire.

Likewise, a mosquito incense led to fire at the shed of Anwarul Sheikh’s residence at Ward 1 of Kanchanrup Municipality and caused the death of
three cows.

The fire which broke out in the house of Agun Sheikh of Ward 1 of Kanchanrup Municipality led to the death of three goats and five hens.

Correspondingly, the fire in 10 kattha land of Laxminarayan Shah of Ward 5 of Khadak Municipality destroyed the wheat.

Further three straw stacks belonging to Satyanarayan Chaudhary of Ward 3 of Surunga Municipality was also burned down. The fire at the shed
belonging to Mahendra Malaha, resident of Ward 4 of Rupani Gaunpalika, led to the destruction of the shed and straw stacks in it.

According to police, since most people were at their houses while the fire broke out, the fire was doused by many people at the earliest.

Similarly, fire engines were called at different places where locals and law enforcement agencies collaborated to extinguish the fires.
