Kathmandu, Nov 4: Deputy Prime Minister and secretariat member of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Ishwar Pokhrel has said the rope of historic party unification done as per the nation’s need and people’s aspirations should not allow to snap.
DPM Pokhrel, who has also been looking after the Office of the Prime Ministry and Council of Ministers, said that the NCP should function according to the agreements reached during the party unification.
During an interview with the Gorkhapatra, the sister daily of this publication, on Tuesday, Pokhrel said the party should be guided by the agreement reached between the two chairmen at the time of unification.
“The party must run on the basis of the decisions made during the consultations with the party leaders and committee members,” DPM Pokhrel highlighted.
He said the present problem surfaced owing to the foul game played by a group going against the agreement to fulfill their petty interest, he said.
The current problem manifested in the party has appeared like an intra-party dispute, however, it was nothing more than a clash of ego, he said.
He said, “The Prime Minister is only focused on nation and people centric plans and programmes while some leaders are playing a foul game to regain the status they had lost after the party unification.”
DPM Pokhrel further urged party chairmen to sort out their differences reaching an agreement.
