Kathmandu, Oct. 6: Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa has said that the houses reconstruction bid for flood and landslide-survivors would get momentum soon after the approval of working procedure related to post-disaster reconstruction.
Speaking in the meeting of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Executive Committee here in Singh Durbar today, Minister Thapa shared that about 1,000 houses were damaged due to floods and landslides in this rainy season adding that these damaged houses would be reconstructed soon.
It was shared that about 500 people have lost their lives in the natural disaster in this rainy season alone.
The meeting has approved the procedure and would be soon tabled at the Cabinet meeting.
Similarly, CEO at the committee Anil Pokharel had briefed the meeting about the working procedure.
Also present on the occasion were, Minister for Health and Population Bhanubhakta Dhakal, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Basanta Nembang among others.
