By A Staff Reporter, Kathmandu, Jan 20: Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Dr. Shiva Maya Tumbahangphe, has announced that she would clear the way for the election of the HoR Speaker.
She made the announcement at the meeting of the HoR today.
Although she did not use the term resignation from the post of Deputy Speaker as her party ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) had decided, she meant it as she thanked all for supporting her for the last two years while she performed her duty as the Deputy Speaker.
Addressing the HoR meeting, Deputy Speaker Dr. Tumbahangphe said that the parliament had been obstructed due to difficult situation and that she had decided to clear the way as she felt such a situation should not prevail for long.
She stated that she had held meetings with top leadership in this regard and that inclusive democracy could be implemented through practice and conduct.
She announced that the next meeting of the HoR would be held at 4:00 PM today.
