Kathmandu, Oct. 21: The death toll from floods and landslides triggered by the post-monsoon torrential rain in the country has reached 86 by Wednesday evening while 27 people are missing in different parts of the country, according to the latest update by police administration from various districts.
Of those who died in disasters, 57 are from Province 1, and 29 from Sudurpaschim Province while one life each was lost in Bagmati and Karnali.

However, the Disaster Management Directorate of the Home Ministry said Wednesday afternoon that the death toll reached 77 and 27 went missing in the floods and landslides across the country.
According to an update provided by the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Authority, 22 have sustained injuries and 27 houses have been damaged completely after three days of heavy rains triggered landslides and floods across Nepal.

According to Sachin Pokharel of Biratnagar Bureau of Gorkhapatra, 57 died in Province 1 and 13 went missing in landslides.
Of the 57 killed in Province 1, 27 were from Panchthar district and 21 of them from Miklajung Rural Municipality alone. Altogether 105 landslides were recorded in Panchthar.
Likewise 13 died in Ilam, seven in Dhankuta, five in Sunsari and one each in Bhojpur and Morang.

Four of the seven killed in Dhankuta were from the same family.
Likewise, our Ilam correspondent reported that 13 people have been killed and seven have gone missing in the district.

The deceased have been identified as Sarita Acharya, 45, of Deumai Municipality, Iita Bahadur Rai, 14, and Bina Sherpa, 30, of Fakfokthum Rural Municipality-1, Randhata Thapa, 75, Nishana Katwal, 15, and Nischit Katwal, 12, of Fakfokthum Rural Municipality-3 and Bishal Tamang of Mai Municipality-3.

Similarly, Nain Singh Katwal, 83, of Fakfokthum Rural Municipality-3, mother and her son of Suryodaya Municipality-3 and four persons of Mangsebung Rural Muncipality-6 went missing.
According to our Doti Correspondent Dil Bahadur Singh, the death toll from floods and landslides in the distirct has reached 14 till Wednesday, while six people have sustained injures and 450 people have been displaced there.

The landslide triggered by the torrential rainfall has killed six persons in Sayal Rural Municipality, six in Jorayal Rural Municipality, one each in Bogatan Fodshil Rural Municipality and Shikhar Rural Municipality.
Of the displaced people, 300 are from Koireli of Dipayal Silgadhi Municipality-7 and 150 from KI Singh Rural Municipality-4.
The displaced have been shifted to safer places. Details of all the places have not been received yet. There could have been a lot of damage, said the District Police Office, Doti.
Electricity and telephone services have been disrupted completely in the district for the past three days.

Likewise, at least seven houses were swept away and more than 17 families were displaced after the swollen Ratuwa River coursed through settlements in Gateone of Damak Municipality-7, in Jhapa.
According to our Jhapa correspondent, houses of Subash Limbu, Ram Kumar Lawati, Khadga Limbu, Dambar Bahadur Shrestha, Bishnu Maya Limbu, and Mina Limbu were swept away by the flood.
According to a preliminary study, the flood has cause damage of property worth Rs. 10 million.

Similarly, more than 350 houses of the district have been inundated by the flood in Kankai, Ratuwa and Biring River.
Similarly, 125 families of Sunsari district have been displaced by the flood, said Chief District Officer Indra Dev Yadav.
Likewise, 24 lives are lost in Panchthar district of which 16 are from Miklajung Rural Municipality alone. About 105 landslides are recorded in Panchthar, according to Sachin Pokhrel of Gorkhapatra Bureau of Biratnagar.

Similarly, six people have died in the disaster in Humla, four in Baitadi, two each in Bajhang, Udayapur and Sunsari, and one each in Kalikot, Dadeldhura, Pyuthan, Solukhumbu and Morang.
Of the missing, 21 are from Bajhang, three from Ilam, two from Pyuthan and one from Jumla.

Water level in Karnali recedes
The water level in Karnali River has started receding from Wednesday.
According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, water level in Karnali River has begun receding with reduced intensity of rain.

The water level in the Karnali River had crossed the danger mark as a result of the incessant rainfall starting Saturday night.
All the markets around Karnali from Jiteybazar in Kalikot were at high risk as the water level in the Karnali River rose sharply.
The villages have experienced a sigh of relief as the water level in the river has dropped from today.
