By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Jan. 28: Surkhet District Administration has clamped curfew in certain places of Birendra Nagar Municipality.
Curfew has been imposed to bring the protesting mob that erupted after a tripper killed a person in an accident under control.
At least eight people were injured in the scuffle between the police and the violent mob that was protesting the death of Keshar Bahadur Singh in the accident. A tripper with registration number Bhe 1 Kha 2242 had hit a motorcyle with registration number Bhe 6 Pa 2178 on which Singh was riding.
Keshar Bahadur Singh, 21, a resident of Mahaiba Rural Municipality-3 of Kalikot district, was hit by the tripper at Gautam Chowk, Birendra Nagar Municipality-3 on Teusday morning. Singh died on the spot.
After the accident, Singh's relatives took to the sreet imposing shut down and vandalising shops and vehicles demanding compensation to the victim family and action against the culprit.
The police have already taken the tripper and its driver into the custody.
According to the notice about curfew order issued today by the Surkhet DAO, the curfew will remain in force till 6 am Wednesday from 6:30 pm today, Tuesday.
