By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Apr. 20: CPN-UML, the main ruling party, has stepped to ask clarifications from 27 of its leaders and members of the Federal Parliament including senior leader Jhalanath Khanal, Madhav Kumar Nepal, Surendra Pandey, Bhim Rawal and Yogesh Bhattarai blaming them for acting against the party interests.
Ishwari Rijal, office secretary of the UML headquarters, said that a decision to this effect was taken by a meeting of the general convention organising committee of the UML held on April 19.
Earlier, CPN-UML parliamentary party of Karnali Province had recommended to punish four provincial assembly members by removing their party membership as they had violated party whip by voting for Karnali Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi in the vote over no-confidence motion against CM Shahi.
