By Amarraj Naharki, Tanahu, Oct. 13: Three members of the same family at Bhimad Municipality has succumbed to COVID-19 here in Tanahu district while another one of the same family is underoing treatment in the ICU.
The deceased are from Bhiimad Municiplaity, Bhimad and are identified as Dharma Kumar Shrestha, 98, his sons, Krishna Kumar, 74, and Bishnu Kumar, 71.
Dharma Kumar Shrestha lost his life on Sunday while receiving treatment at the BNB Hospital in Kathmandu.
Earlier, Dharma Kumar's second eldest son, Krishna Kumar, had lost his life to virus while receiving treatment in a hospital in Kathmandu.
Similarly, his third eldest son, Bishnu Kumar, died on Monday.
Bhimad Bazaar is in mourning after the death of three members of the same family.
The eldest son, Ram Kumar Shrestha, 77, is undergoing treatment at the ICU in the capital, said Shanka Narayan Shrestha, Dharma Kumar's son-in-law and CPN Gandaki state member.
All the three deceased died because of the COVID-19, he added.
According to Shrestha, nine members of the Shrestha family were infected with COVID-19.
The father, Dharma Kumar Shrestha got infected with virus while receiving treatment in the Chitwan Medical College.
