Kathmandu, Sept 28 : The number of coronavirus infected people has surged to 825 in Tokha municipality with an addition of fresh 29 cases on Sunday alone.
Ward-1 of the northern municipality has recorded the lowest number of 21 cases while ward-3 has the highest number of 95 infected people. As informed there are 51 diagnosed cases in ward 2, 43 in ward 4, 86 in ward 5, 91 in ward 6, 80 in ward 7, 94 in ward 8, 55 in ward 9, 66 in ward 10 and 62 in ward 11.
Among the infected, 444 have recovered and returned home, 304 are living in home isolation and 69 are being treated in different hospitals of the Kathmandu Valley, shared municipality’s spokesperson Bachchuraj Basyal. Five among the infected have not yet come to contact.
So far three people have lost their lives to the virus in Tokha. The deceased were from ward 4,6 and 9, Basyal informed. Tokha is second to the Kathmandu metropolis in having the highest number of corona infection cases.
The municipality has been operating a 17-bed isolation centre at Tokha Chandeswori primary health centre for the treatment of corona infected people.
With the rise in the number of cases, up-gradation of the centre would also be carried out, said Tokha mayor Prakash Adhikari.
