Bagmati, May 1: Bagmati Province Chief Minister Dormani Poudel has said the world's glory and identity have been built on the foundation of workers’ toil and labor.
In his message of best wishes on the occasion of 132nd International Workers’ Day today, the Chief Minister highlighted the need for more actions to enhance the dignity and prestige of workers.
May Day is the commemoration of the historic struggles of such working people for their rights. In Nepal, it was workers who had first raised their voices against the tyrannical Rana regime and the contribution of Nepali workers to every democratic movement at home was incomparable and we are now in the era of the federal democratic republic built on the same foundation,’’ he said in the message.
“May the Day inspire all the Nepali to contribute for realising the ‘prosperous Nepal and happy Nepali’ campaign,’’ he said, promising to implement programmes for further empowerment of workers.
