Butwal, June 15 : Lumbini Province Chief Minister Shankar Pokhrel has stated that the Bhume Festival was being established as an important culture in the Nepali society lately.
Issuing a message of best wishes on the occasion of the Bhume Festival, CM Pokhrel acknowledged the festival as a special cultural festivity among the Khama speaking Magar community and is observed with great fervor in Rolpa and Rukum districts in Lumbini Province on this day.
Stating that the Festival like Bhume would help enable an environment of unity, goodwill and amity, Pokharel said that the festival was related to the nature and it had established the interconnected deep relations between humans and nature.
The CM argued that the human life would be easy and simple if humankind could conserve the natural resources such as water, soil, flora and fauna and make the prudent use of natural resources.
Furthermore, he observed that the constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic Nepal had prioritized the upliftment and development of all the communities and ethnicities.
“The constitutional bodies were established to champion the marginalized communities and indigenous communities in the country,” he said.
The Lumbini Province government has declared public holiday in Rolpa and Rukum on the occasion.
