Pokhara, June 5 : Gandaki State Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung has stressed the need to develop tourism city Pokhara as a town of parks.
In his address to a programme organized at the newly-constructed park at Palikhechowk in Pokhara metropolis on the occasion of 47th World Environment Day today, he also pitched for the environment-resilient development of Pokhara.
Environmental cleanliness is one of the indicators of the panoramic natural beauty of Pokhara, he claimed, underscoring the need of developing tourism conserving environment side by side.
There is no alternative to conserve environment to hand over the scenic beauty of Pokhara to the generation to come, he highlighted, calling for collective efforts for the conservation and development of the city of treasure.
Pokhara metropolis mayor Man Bahadur GC said the area was made spacious as part of the campaign of the beautification of the city.
