By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Sept. 29: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has conducted a raid on the office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers of Province 2.
Bed Prasad Bhandari, deputy spokesperson and information officer of the CIAA, informed that the office of the Province 2 CM and Council of Ministers were raided in the context of news reports about irregularities in the 'Educate Daughter, Save Daughter' programme of the Province.
He said that purchase of 17 thousand cycles costing 110 million rupees for the 'Educate Daughter, Save Daughter' was found to be in violation of the public procurement rule and as per the decision of the Commission, a joint team consisting of officials from the CIAA central office and that of the Bardibas office has reached the Province 2 CM office.
He said that the joint team seized related documents. "The CIAA office based in Bardibas will send the documents taken under control to the central CIAA office and then the investigation into the issue will start as soon as possible," CIAA deputy spokesperson Bhandari said.
