After lockdown was lifted, majority of people shared that they gained weight, became dull and are now finding it difficult to keep up with the busy schedule. So how can you change your lifestyle? Be more motivated? and be energised? Well, it’s about making small changes to your habits and routine that will push you forward, and get you there! And only when you make those changes, you will achieve those goals. So what are these small changes that will modify your lifestyle?
Having a workout routine will completely change your lifestyle. This is a must if you want to have a healthy lifestyle. And no, this does not mean you have to go to a gym. The main aim is to be active. Going for a 20-minute walk to the local temple, park daily or engaging yourself in a sport will work. This will definitely be a game changer. This will boost your energy level, your posture and help you lose weight that you gained during lockdown. Now as you are fit, you will stand out among your friends. In fact, staying active will also have a positive effect on your mental health. You will feel more confident and have a positive mindset which will lead to a happy life.
Lockdown has destroyed our wake-up and sleep routines. People would stay up late night watching movies and woke up late at midday. But now, people have to go back to their busy lifestyle feeling energised and refreshed. Especially as you have to follow a workout routine, you need energy which can only be achieved through a good night sleep. So getting enough sleep is extremely important. Otherwise, you will be dull, make excuses not to work out and be tired throughout the day. According to a research conducted by Harvard biologist Christoph Randler, early risers were more proactive than the late sleepers. As you want to change your lifestyle and be more productive, you will want to get enough sleep.
You also have to feed your body but with healthy foods, not fast food. You can’t expect your body to perform at a high level without feeding it the proper food. Eating fast food will only increase your belly which you probably have already increased during lockdown. But quitting junk food and only eating healthy is not the answer. The ideal way is to start slow, have cheat days, and gradually stop eating unhealthy food. You cannot change your habits immediately as it a slow process.
Mobile phones is a need in the current world we live in. But, we cannot spend all our time on social media for no reason. Lockdown came and being on your phone has never been easier. But you have to control that screen time. Your phone shows you how much time you have spent on it and you later regret that you wasted a lot of time. Staring at your phone for a long time will drain your energy and make you feel lazy and unmotivated. This is not what you want. It is easy to find an excuse to stay on your phone but you have to remember there is a world outside that screen as well!
So what are you waiting for? Better late than never! Change your habits and start living life to the fullest.
