Salyan, Nov. 27: Police Wednesday arrested four leaders and cadres of the Biplav-led group for their anti-election activities.
Police took them under control on the charge of conducting anti-election campaign. The by-election is going to be held on November 30.
They were arrested from the Balle, Kumakh Rural Municipality-5 while they were distributing pamphlets asking people to boycott the electoral process, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dakendra Khaitwada.
The detainees included Chakrapani Sharma, Karnali_In-Charge and politburo member of the CPN-Revolutionary Maoists, District Secretary Chakra Bahadur Shah, District member Hiralal Gosain and Dipak Bahadur, district-in-charge and central member of Janagantantrik Morcha.
According to DSP Khatiwada, the District Administration Office (DAO) remanded them in custody for seven days.
Likewise in Gorkha, police arrested Syangja district member of Bilpav group on Monday night.
According to Gorkha District Police Office, Sagar Aryal of Bhirkot Rural Municipality was arrested from Majhuwa Deurali.
