Doti, Aug 14 : The Bhimdutt Highway connecting Attaria-Syaul, which was blocked due to landslides triggered by continuous rains, has been reopened. The highway was blocked on Friday evening when a landslide hit Katal on the highway under Gaira of Doti and Sahunkharka of Dadeldhura.
According to the District Police Office, Doti, the landslide debris was cleared off with the help of dozers, police and locals of the Road Division Office. According to Joint Spokesperson and Inspector at the District Police Office, Doti, Rabindra Chand, the vehicles had remained stranded since last night and are now heading towards their respective destination. The transport service in seven hilly districts had been closed when the highway was blocked.
Due to the widening of the bends of the road taking place at different places of the highway, landslides have been taking place time and again even during normal rains.
