By Gopi Gyawali, Nawalparasi, June 30: Vehicles are forced to take a risky drive at Bardaghat area along East-West Highway as the road section here has been inundated due to the incessant rainfall since Tuesday evening.
The torrents has triggered waterlogging at multiple points of the highway in the district besides inundating thousands of hectors of paddy field.
Prakash Biplavi, a local at Bardaghat, informed that the heavy rainfall has inundated the highway at many places and that the vehicles are doing a risky driver on the submerged road.
Chisapani, London Bridge and Mouratadi area in Bardaghat Municipality and Sunwal bazaar area of Sunwal Municipality in Nawalparasi district have seen massive inundation due to the incessant rainfall causing difficulty in commuting.
Krishna Bahadur Dhital, Police inspector and chief of Area Police Office Sunwal, informed that vehicles plying the highway were diverted from Bhumahi via Parasi to Butwal or Bhairahawa as two diversions made for road expansion at Bankatti in Sunwal have been washed away by the flood.
