Kathmandu, Nov 26 : A Nepali artist has organized a solo art exhibition in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.
Deependraman Banepali from Bhaktapur organized the exhibition as the guest artist of the International Art and Handicraft Exhibition. He has included artworks depicting the Nepali culture and places of archaeological, historical and religious importance.
He had welcomed the visitors to the exhibition by putting the Dhaka cap (the typical Nepali cap made of the Dhaka fabric) on their heads, inviting them to visit Nepal during the Visit Nepal Year 2020. Banepali said he also informed the visitors about the various touristic places of Nepal like Kathmandu, Pokhara and other places on the occasion.
Senior Bangladeshi artist Prof Hamid Udazman Khan said this International Art and Handicraft Exhibition has been held for the first time in Bangladesh and expressed the confidence that it would promote the mutual relations.
Twenty artists participated in the art section and 26 artists in the handicraft section of the Exhibition. Artists from Nepal, India and Bangladesh have participated. The exhibition started on Saturday and will last for a week.
