Tanahun, Apr. 15: Hotels in Bandipur are packed with domestic tourists travelling on the occasion of the Nepali New Year.
Bais Gurung, former chairman of the Bandipur Tourism Development Committee, informed that more than 5,000 tourists had arrived in the place to celebrate the New Year. The committee data show that an additional 2,500 people stayed outside of hotels in homestays and as paying guests.
According to Bipin Pradhan, President of the Regional Hotel Association, people started booking hotel rooms from the last week of Chaitra.
“Since the pandemic has not ended, we thought not many people would come to Bandipur. But the large number of visitors has encouraged us to provide the best service we can,” he said.
There are around 80 hotels, lodges and restaurants in Bandipur Rural Municipality.
