NC 14th General Convention
Kathmandu, Dec. 16: Gagan Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma have maintained the lead in the post of General Secretary of the Nepali Congress.
Gagan Thapa got 2,581 votes while Bishwaprakash Sharma got 1,646 votes out of 3,990 votes counted under the 14th General Convention.
Similarly, Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat was in third place with 1,227 votes while Pradip Poudel got 1,188 votes. Another General Secretary candidate Dr Minendra Rijal got 687 votes and Rajaram Karki got only 88 votes.
According to the NC constitution, two general secretaries will be elected. It seems that Thapa and Sharma will win.
