By Our Correspondent, Nepalgunj, Mar 31:  At the time of lockdown, a young pharmacist of Banke has started delivering medicines for people suffering from chronic illness to their home.

Irfan Siddiqui, the owner of Dhrubtara Public Pharmacy situated at BP Chowk of Nepalgunj, said he started delivering medicines so that the people with chronic illness would not have to face problem at a time when the country was under lockdown.

“Those who need to take medicine every day might not be able to buy it when it is finished. Those with chronic illness should not have a gap in their medication due to which I started searching for such patients and deliver medicines to them,” said Siddiqui.

Despite delivering the medicines to respective individual’s home, Siddiqui does not charge any extra money. Rather, he has been providing discounts.

"Delivering medicines to their houses also limits them from coming out during the lockdown in search for pharmacies,” said Siddiqui.

Siddiqui had announced to deliver essential medicines to those who need them through social media. He has said to have delivered medicines to 30 houses till now.

People benefitting through the delivery service of the medicine have thanked Siddiqui for his help.

“I needed my medicines for high blood pressure. Siddiqui brought me those to my house at one call,” said Samir Khanal, a resident of Nepalgunj.

Even when the required medicine is not available in his pharmacy, Siddiqui has been delivering the medicines by buying from other pharmacies.

While some have been hiding goods and selling them at high prices due to the lockdown, Siddiqui is helping others in whatever way he can.
