By Chhabi Pande, Butwal, Aug. 27: A COVID-19 woman patient being treated through plasma therapy succumbed to the virus infection on Thursday morning.
The 70-year old woman of Janakinagar in Tillotama Municipality died of the infection while under treatment at Butwal Corona Special Hospital, according to Lumbini Provincial Hospital.
Dr. Bishnu Gautam, spokesperson of the hospital, said the elderly was also suffering from thyroid and high blood pressure.
Treatment of the woman for COVID-19 by plasma therapy method was started on Monday.
Improvement in the woman's health was seen till Wednesday. However, it deteriorated at night and she breathed her last at 10:30 am on Thursday, according to Dr. Gautam.
Infection of SARS-CoV-2 was confirmed in the woman on August 10 and she was admitted to the hospital on August 15.
