By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Aug. 18: The Ministry of Health and Population has confirmed 205 new cases of COVID-19 in Kathmandu Valley today. This is the highest single-day increase recorded till the date in the Valley.
In 13,461 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, as many as 205 persons were found with the virus infection in Kathmandu Valley alone, said Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson of the ministry in the regular press briefing today.
Of the 205 new cases, 138 were detected in Kathmandu, 50 were detected in Lalitpur and 17 were detected in Bhaktapur.
Moreover, a whopping 1,016 cases of COVID-19 were confirmed across the nation on Tuesday, taking the national tally to 28,257 including 17,580 cases of recovery and 114 death cases.
