Solar and dynamo of the wind power plant were damaged by lighting in July 2019. No attention was given for the maintenance of the power plant as the locals got divided according to their political parties.
“Who to take credit from the benefits of the power plant was the reason for the delayed maintenances, every group has their own part and interest,” Prem Gautam, a local, said.
The wind power plant was constructed from Rs. 856,000 of the area development fund of former state minister Tapta Bahadur Bista, Rs.399,000 from alternative energy sector, Rs.214,000 from Taranga Rural Municipality and Rs.586,000 was collected from the locals.
The plant started producing power in July 2017. But a lightning struck in 2019 damaging the plant. Now, the solar plates, electricity poles and wires have been in a dilapidated condition.
According to Gautam, the locals complained about the damages on wind-power plant immediately after the lightning hit it. But nothing was done to repair it.
