Kathmandu, Aug 5: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has sent a letter to all the seven Provincial Health Directorates and District Health Offices (DHOs) in all 77 districts to swiftly manage the process of COVID-19 vaccine card certification to the citizens going abroad for foreign employment, studies, medical treatment or other works on the basis of their COVID-19 vaccination cards.
The Ministry in the letter dispatched on Sunday asked all the government hospitals across the nation having over 50-beds to make arrangements to designate maximum two focal persons (medical doctors) to carry out certification service which is to be provided free of cost.
Further, the MoHP circular noted that beginning from 17 August, vaccines will be administered to those going abroad only after pre-registration and information verification and upon getting the shots, a vaccine certificate with a QR code generated thorough information system, is to be produced electronically and be made available to the vaccinated citizens.
The MoHP letter further gives direction on provisions of mandatory pre-registration also for other citizens coming for vaccine and those who have already taken the vaccine for mandatory post-registration among others. It also requested the health offices to ease the vaccination by increasing vaccine centers.
This circular was sent to the health offices by Director of the Department of Health Services (DoHS), Dr. Dipendra Raman Singh, following the MoHP decision of July 30.
