By Deepak Prasad Gautam, Birgunj, June 13: Two people who died in Birugunj on Thursday and Friday have tested positive for COVID-19.
A dead body found near Ghanta Ghar, Birgunj, approximately around 25-year old and a 5-year old boy who died on Friday, while receiving treatment at Birgunj Healthcare Hospital was found to have been infected with COVID-19.
With this, the COVID-19 death toll in Nepal has reached 18.
According to Dr Madan Upadhyaya, medical superintendent of Narayani Hospital, Birguj, the 25-year old youth's PCR report was received at around 10 PM on Friday while the report of 5-year old child was received on Saturday.
The 5-year old child was admitted to Birgunj Healthcare Hospital at Birgunj Metropolitan City-14, after symptoms of pneumonia were detected. His swab test was done after his death.
Meanwhile, five persons including a 3-year old boy and a female have tested positive for the virus.
Two people of Kumhaltol, BMC and three of Sakhuwaprasauni Quarantine, Parsa were identified with COVID-19 infection, said Dr Upadhyaya.
