By Homraj Ranabhat, Nawalparasi, July 21: Two persons have been killed as their house got buried under the landslides triggered by the incessant rainfall for the past four days here at a remote village of Dandajheri, Bulingtar Rural Municipality-2 in eastern Nawalparasi.
Police Inspector (SP) at the eastern Nawalparasi District Police Office, Deepak Regmi, informed that bodies of Sher Bahadur Sarki, 70, and his wife Khini Maya were recovered this morning. The couple were buried under the landslides that came from above their house.
Prem Bahadur Thapa Magar, Chair of Bulingtar Rural Municipality-2, said the couple were missing since 3 am after their house got buried in the landslides and during the rescue and search, the locals found their bodies. He said incessant rainfall caused the landslides.
Pitambar Ghimire, Chief District Officer, said the police were deployed in the disaster site that lies some 50 km away in the north from district headquarters, Kawasoti.
