By Prem Simkhada, Lalighat (Kalikot), June 10: At least two persons were killed and nine others injured when a tipper truck heading to Raskot Municipality from Narharinath Rural Municipality met with an accident today.
The deceased have been identified as Ghumki Sharki, 21, and Sarmila Sharki, 23, of Raskot Municipality.
The injured passengers have been sent to hospital for treatment. The tipper was carrying around 39 people, all India returnees, and heading towards the local level the people belonged to so as to keep them in the quarantine. The remaining passengers are still missing.
The tipper truck had skidded off the road and fell 20 meters down into the Karnali River and got completely drowned.
