By Deepak Prasad Gautam, Birgunj, July 31: As many as three COVID-19 patients including Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Jagadamba Enterprises died in Parsa on Thursday.
The 56-year old CEO of Jagadamba Enterprises was receiving treatment in isolation in Gandak Temporary COVID-19 Hospital, Birgunj.
According to Dr. Niraj Kumar Singh, in-charge of the COVID-19 Hospital, the CEO was suffering from chronic heart disease since a long time and he had undergone by-pass surgery few months ago.
"After he tested positive for COVID-19, he was admitted to hospital on July 22. He breathed his last at 10:45 on Thursday," said Dr. Singh.
Likewise, a 35-year old male of Birgunj Metropolitan City (BMC)-16, who was receiving treatment in isolation from July 28 as a suspected COVID-19 patient died at around 8:00 PM on Thursday.
A 70-year old elderly of BMC-2 breathed his last on Thursday at his home. The Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test report of both, the 35-year old and 70-year old male, revealed that both the deceased were infected with SARS-CoV-2.
The 70-year old male was found dead at his own house on Thursday morning. Both, the 35-year old male and 70-year old elderly tested positive for COVID-19 in PCR test done at Narayani Hospital on Thursday night, informed Dr. Madan Upadhyaya, medical superintendent of Narayani Hospital.
Parsa district has recorded 10 deaths from July 16 to July 31. The health condition of four patients is critical, said Dr. Singh.
Of the four patients receiving treatment in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), three are COVID-19 patients while one is a suspected virus patient.
The symptoms of COVID-19 is seen in majority of the virus patients receiving treatment in Gandak Temporary COVID-19 Hospital.
