By Lucky Chaudhary, Kathmandu, July 21: The meeting of Standing Committee of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) was held for 30 minutes today, at 1:00 in the afternoon.
NCP Spokesperson Narayankaji Shrestha said that the next meeting would be held a week later on July 28.
The meeting held today was concluded by passing an agenda of rescuing and providing relief to those who have been affected by the rain-induced disasters.
Spokesperson Shrestha informed that the NCP Chairmen, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, were not present in the Standing Committee meeting today.
The meeting, though called at 11:00 in the morning, was held at 1:00 in the afternoon.
Ramsharan Bajgain, the PM’s media expert, said that the meeting started late due to the talks held between Chairmen Oli and Prachanda.
According to the NCP spokesperson, 233 were killed, 98 went missing, 99 were injured and 282 houses were affected by the rain induced disasters.
Meeting between the Chairmen-duo
Prior to the Standing Committee meeting, discussions were held between the NCP Chairmen. “Although the intra-party differences have been sorted out by the Chairmen, they have not reached to a concrete agreement,” said Shrestha.
The meeting which went for around one hour ended on positive notes, said the PM Secretariat.
