By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Jan 23: Silence period of the election for the National Assembly members is being implemented from midnight today.
The election for 19 vacant seats of the NA is being held on January 26.
During the silence period, publicity of election and soliciting voters are banned and that all publicity materials including election symbols placed within 300 meters of polling stations should be removed, according to the Election Commission, Nepal.
The Commission has also stated that it is against the code of conduct to use electronic means and social networking sites such as Facebook, Viber and SMS for seeking votes or make publicity during the silence period.
