By Dhyan Kulung, Sankhuwasabha, July 12: As many as seven houses have been swept away and 11 have gone missing due to the landslides at Sisuwakhola, Silichong Rural Municipality-1, in Sankhuwasabha district.
The landslides, triggered by incessant rainfall, swept away Besinda village of Sisuwakhola, said Police Inspector Santosh Rai of the District Police Office.
"Police have been deployed in the area. It is still raining heavily thus the details of the disaster is yet to be received," said Rai.
Also, Ram Bahadur Kulung, Chairman of Silichong Rural Municipality, said that the place of incident was a remote area of the district. It has been difficult to reach the village due to flooding in rivers caused by heavy rainfall.
