By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 21: The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a circular today to all local levels of the valley to seal off all the entry points to the valley.
The meeting held at the Home Ministry under chairmanship of Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa decided to seal off all the entry channels to the Kathmandu Valley.
The Home Ministry cicular has come a week after a joint meeting of chiefs local levels in the Valley and security officers under the chairmanship of the Home Minister on May 14.
Bidyasundar Shakya, Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Chiribabu Maharjan, Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, secretary of home ministry, Chief District Officers of all three districts in the valley, chief of security authorities and local levels were present in the meeting held on May 14.
After the number of people entering Kathmandu increased, thereby intensifying the threat of virus spread within the valley, the meeting decided to seal off each and every entry points to the capital city and to set up quarantine at hotels and community buildings in local levels for those who enter the valley.
The meeting had also decided to provide paid quarantine facilities to the valley entrants and their mandatory Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT).
