By Prakriti Adhikari, Kathmandu, Mar. 29: The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has decided to shut down all educational institutions across the country for four days starting from tomorrow, Tuesday to Friday.
An urgent meeting held at the Ministry under the chairmanship of Minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha decided to close schools and colleges owing to adverse weather conditions.
Minister Shrestha had consulted with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli prior to taking the decision.
Present in the meeting held at the ministry were Ram Prasad Thapaliya, education secretary, Dr. Sanjaya Sharma, science secretary, joint secretaries of the ministry Deepak Sharma and Dr. Hari Lamsal and Baikuntha Aryal, Director General of Human Resource Development Center.
The decision to close schools has been taken in view of possible health hazards to students due to persisting adverse weather conditions characterised by hazy days with smog.
