By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Apr. 11: The hearing on the writ petition filed against the promotion of three Deputy Inspector General of the Police (DIG) to Additional Inspector General (AIG) of the Police scheduled for today at the Supreme Court has been postponed.
The hearing was supposed to decide whether or not to issue an interim order on the case.
A single bench of SC Justice Dr. Kumar Chudal had on Tuesday issued a show-cause order while holding a preliminary hearing on the case.
The single bench of the SC had also decided to call both sides of the case for discussion today.
DIGs Ishwar Babu Karki, Ghana Shyam Aryal and Prakash Jung Karki had filed a case against the government's decision on the promotion of some of the DIGs to AIGs.
