By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Mar. 22: Supreme Court has issued an interim stay order against implementation of the code of conduct related to the local level election.
A single bench of Justice Bam Kumar Shrestha made the order on Tuesday.
The order also includes calling the concerned parties for discussion over the interim order on March 27.
Chairman of Helambu Rural Municipality Nima Gyaljen Sherpa had on Monday filed a petition against the code of conduct arguing that implementation of the code, particularly the one that requires the people's representatives at the local level to resign before they file candidacy for the local election, would turn the local levels devoid of people's representatives.
The petition was filed against Election Commission.
