By Janardan Khatri, Sarlahi, Apr. 18: A 14-year old boy of Dhankaul, Sarlahi has tested positive for COVID-19 in Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT).
His swab sample has been sent to Kathmandu for Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test.
The boy, who had come to Nepal on April 5 from Delhi tested positive in RDT on Friday however, COVID-19 infection will be confirmed only after PCR test.
The boy has been kept in isolation in Janakpur Provincial Hospital.
Prior to this, he had been staying in Dhankaul-based quarantine.
As soon as the police found that he had come to Dhankaul from Delhi via Gaur, Rautahat, he was sent to quarantine.
Another man, who had been staying with the COVID-19 suspect, has also been sent to isolation in Janakpur, despite testing negative for the virus.
RDT of 68 people has been done in Sarlahi until now where, everyone except the 14-year old boy had tested negative for the virus, informed Mohan Bahadur GC, Chief District Officer of Sarlahi.
The RDT was conducted in quarantines of Chandranagar, Haripur, Lalbandi, Kaudena, Dhankaul and Chakraghatta on Saturday.
