By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Feb. 17: The meeting of the ruling coalition that dwelt on Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) pact with Nepal has ended without any concrete conclusion.
The leaders in the meeting agreed to hold another round of talks tomorrow morning at 10 am, according to Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, government spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology, informed the media persons after the meeting.
"The meeting held a serious discussion on serious issues, particularly, the political events that have surfaced lately in the country, on how to ensure smooth proceedings of the parliament and on how to conclude the MCC by discussing it in the parliament," said government spokesperson Karki.
He said that Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba put forth the proposal for tabling and endorsing the MCC by February 28 and that the discussion went around the same proposal.
The meeting went on for two hours at Baluwatar, the Prime Minister's official residence.
Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, NC senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel, CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' and leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha, CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal and senior leader Jhalanath Khanal, Janata Samajwadi leader Baburam Bhattarai and NC general secretary Gagan Thapa, among other leaders, were present in the meeting.
