Prachanda's role great in ensuring republican constituion
By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Dec. 26: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has urged all not to cast doubt over the longevity of the ruling coalition.
He said so while best wishes and addressing the eighth general convention of the CPN (Maoist Center) here today.
The Prime Minister argued that the ruling coalition was not targeted against any political party.
"Present coalition was not formed against any. It was formed to ensure that the parliament does not get dissolved halfway and that the parliament is run as per the constitution," said the Prime Minister, "This coalition is the one for protecting the parliament and the constitution."
The PM shared that he had heard some people arguing that the MCC was against the nation and urged everyone to read the MCC. "I am the Prime Minister of the country. Do you think I might go against the nation?" he asked, and urged all "Please, read the MCC at least for once."
Prime Minister Deuba, who is also the president of the Nepali Congress, lauded Maoist Center Chair Prachanda's role in ensuring the election of the Constituent Assembly for promulgating a new constitution. He said the CA election was held because of a remarkable role by Prachanda.
PM Deuba lauded Chairman Prachanda for his assertion in having a republican constitution.
"Pushpa Kamal Dahal ji has contributed a lot to Nepal's politics. It is true he had a condition to enter the peace process if only there was a guarantee of holding the CA election. We went to the CA election because of him," said the Prime Minister, also NC president, " In this sense, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ji implemented that agenda of having a constitution through the CA which was pending for over six decades, since 1951."
