Private schools in Rupandehi to resume classes with physical attendance after Tihar

By Deepak Gyawali, Butwal, Nov. 8: The private schools of Rupandehi district that were in standstill for months because of the COVID-19 pandemic are set to be resumed immediately after Tihar.

The Private and Boarding School Organization Nepal (PABSON) of Rupendehi has decided to reopen schools right after the Tihar festival.

As the learning activities of the students was obstructed by the long time shutdown of the schools, preparation are made to reopen schools by adhering to the health standard protocols, informed PABSON.

The PABSON District assembly that was held in Butwal has urged the schools, teachers, parents and students under the organization to be ready for it.

Lekhnath Poudel, PABSON Rupendehi Chairman, said that he would make a written request to all the municipalities and all concerned to create a conducive environment for the operation of the school immediately after the festival.

He said that it is not justifiable to shut down the schools while all the other areas have come into operation, and added, so it was decided to operate learning in physical attendance of teachers and students.

Before that, the schools have been urged to sanitize the entire classroom and adhere to the health safety standards, he said.

Krishna Prasad Khanal, central advisor of the organization, said that there was no alternative to physical attendance in school as the alternative teaching-learning method was not inclusive to all the students.

There are 240 private schools affiliated to PABSON in Rupendehi district.
