By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Aug. 15: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has held telephone conversation with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi on Saturday afternoon.
Prime Minister Oli called Indian Prime Minister Modi to extend his best wishes on the occasion of the 74th Independence Day of India, according to the Prime Minister's secretariat.
Surya Thapa, Prime Minister's press advisor, said that the two Prime Ministers held telephone conversation but he did not divulge on the details of the conversations as he said the Foreign Ministry would issue press release on the matter.
Relations between the two neighbours have turned sour after India in last November claimed Nepal's Limpiyadhura, Lipu Lekh and Kalapani area in the north western part of Nepal.
India has been irritated after PM Oli expressed that legendary character Ram of the Ramayan, who is worshipped as incarnation of Lord Bishnu by the Hindu, may have as well born at Ayodhya located in Thori of Nepal.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Oli had expressed congratulations and best wishes to his Indian counterpart Modi and the people of India on the 74th Independence Day of India through social media twitter.
