By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Oct. 20: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has called an emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers.
Bhanu Deuba, personal secretary of the PM, said that the meeting was being held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar at 2:00 on Wednesday afternoon.
Personal secretary Bhanu Deuba said that the meeting was held to take a decision to provide relief to the families of those affected by various disasters caused nationwide due to torrential rainfall from Sunday.
The rain-induced disasters have claimed 48 lives across the nation from Sunday.
According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, 48 fatalities were reported in 11 districts including one in Kalikot, four in Baitadi, one in Dadeldhura, nine in Doti, six in Humla, one in Pyuthan, six in Dhankuta, two in Sunsari, six in Panchthar, 11 in Illam and one in Udayapur.
The Home Ministry further informed that 19 districts were affected nationwide due to the rain-induced disasters.
