By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Apr. 9: Revenue of Rs. 247 million has been collected from Mt. Everest expeditions in this spring season.
The Department of Tourism (DoT) informed that the amount was collected as royalty from foreigners who ascended the world's highest peak this year.
According to data revealed by the DoT, the revenue of Rs. 275 million was collected as of April 8 from mountaineering expeditions of nine mountains. The highest amount of royalty was obtained from the expedition of Mt. Everest followed by Mr. Annapurna and Mt. Lhotse.
In comparison to previous years, a spike in the number of expeditors was observed this year.
