By Bhawani Aer, Kailali, Aug. 10: At least 55 houses have been damaged while 300 houses suffered waterlogging due to inundation in most part of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City caused by two-day long incessant rainfall.
Campus road, Shiva Nagar, LN Chowk, Park Chowk, Bishal Nagar, Milan Chowk, Chauraha, Uttar Behadi, Chatakpur, among other places, of the Sub-metropolitan City have been submerged.
Hikmat Bahadur Karki, Police Inspector at the Kailali District Police Office, said that flood waters have affected as many as 300 houses. "Floods have causes damages to 55 houses. Details of other damages are yet to be collected."
Tek Raj Joshi, a local at Bishal Nagar of Dhangadhi, said that over half a dozen families have been displaced due to inundation. Joshi said he himself along with his family members were taking shelter at relatives' as the flood water deluged his house.
Bala Bahadur Aer, Chairman of Dhanagadhi Sub-metropolitan City Ward No.-3, said that problems of inundation had arisen in absence of proper sewerage system or outlet to flood waters.
