By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Apr. 16:  After being tested negative for COVID-19, the third member of the family residing in Suncity Apartment has been discharged from the Patan Hospital.

She along with her husband and mother-in-law, who eventually tested positive for the virus, were kept in isolation at Patan Hospital after all three had tested positive in the Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT).

RDT of 296 people residing in Block ‘A’ of Suncity Apartment at Kageshwori Manohara Municipality was conducted on Wednesday, where all of them had tested negative for the virus.

Krishna Hari Thapa, Mayor of the municipality said, “COVID-19 infection was not found in any of the tests conducted on Wednesday, we are discussing about whether or not to conduct RDT on remaining residents of the apartment.”

 “As the third member of the family also tested negative for the virus, the officials of Department of Health Services have been suggesting that additional test of other residents of the apartment was not needed,” said Thapa. “However, we have not reached to a decision.”

Thapa informed that the residents of the apartment had been requesting for additional check-ups.

The RDT was conducted in the apartment by the health workers from Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital, Teku, in coordination with the municipality.

After a family of three residing in the apartment tested positive for the virus in RDT, the government had sealed the apartment on Monday.
