NCP SC meet concludes for today, next meet on Dec 13

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Dec 6: The Standing Committee (SC) meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) concluded for today deciding to hold another meet on December 13.

"The SC meeting concluded for today decided to hold next meeting on December 13. The meeting also decided to hold party central committee meeting on December 20," NCP spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha informed the press after the meeting at the NCP headquarters, Dhumbarahi.

The NCP spokesperson said that one of the two Chairmen of the NCP, KP Sharma Oli, who is also the Prime Minister, did not participate in the meeting, but he sent a letter addressing the standing committee meeting.

"In the beginning of the SC meeting, party Secretariat Member Ishwor Pokharel read out the letter sent by Chairman Oli (to the SC meeting)," NCP spokesperson Shrestha said.

He said that the proposals of the two chairmen and related letters exchanged between them were distributed to the SC meeting for study.

Asked what executive Chairman of the NCP, Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', said in the meeting, the NCP spokesperson said that Prachanda urged the SC members to keep party unity in the center and put forth views during the discussion.

Bhim Rawal, a SC member of the NC, argued that with the letter addressing the SC, Chairman Oli did participated in the meeting politically, albeit not in person.

He expected Chairman Oli would attend the next meeting as he was the Chairman of the party.
