Kathmandu, Mar. 23: Spokesperson for the Nepali Congress (NC), Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, has stressed the need for party unity. He expressed the hope that the party campaign with the theme of 'visit homes, make the Congress victorious' launched targeting the upcoming local level election would help further integrate the party.
"Environment conducive for further consolidating the NC is being created. This is being exhibited in districts to districts. Now I hope that the culture of groupism existing within the party will end," said the former minister while addressing an event organised here today by the NC Dhulikhel town committee to welcome newcomers to the party who defected various parties to join the NC.
"The NC will be victorious at all local levels in the upcoming election. We will win all local levels. Similarly, we will get success in the federal and provincial level elections accordingly," he claimed.
The responsibility of establishing the rule of law had fallen on the NC that has carried democratic norms and values, he said. "All should be given their party responsibility equally irrespective of new or old newcomers ending bitterness within the party. The party will always stand for truth."
