By Chhabi Pandey, Butwal, Aug. 11: The Chief Minister of Lumbini province Shankar Pokharel has resigned from his position.
Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning, and spokesperson of the Lumbini Province Government Baijnath Chaudhary said that Chief Minister Pokharel has tendered his resignation to Province Chief Amik Sherchan.
A special session of the Provincial Assembly was called for 1 pm today after the opposition coalition filed a no-confidence motion against the government in the Provincial Assembly.
Chief Whip of the CPN-UML Lumbini Provincial Assembly Bhumishwor Dhakal said that Chief Minister Pokharel has resigned before the special session.
