By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Sept. 18: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Friday confirmed 859 new cases of COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley. This is the highest single-day tally recorded in the Valley until now.
In 11,458 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, as many as 859 persons, 296 females and 563 males, were found with the novel coronavirus infection in the Valley itself, revealed the daily report released by the MoHP today.
Of the 859 new cases, 698 cases including 216 females and 482 males, were detected in Kathmandu, 82 cases including 48 females and 34 males, were found in Bhaktapur and 79 cases, including 32 females and 47 males were recorded in Lalitpur.
Moreover, some 2,020 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed across the nation on Friday, taking the national tally to 61,593 including 43,820 cases of recovery and 390 death cases.
