By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Sept. 1: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Tuesday confirmed 481 new cases of COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley. This is the highest single-day spike recorded in the Valley until now.
In 12,088 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, as many as 481 persons were found to be infected with the novel coronavirus, informed Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson of the ministry in the daily press briefing today.
Of the new cases, 393 were detected in Kathmandu, 30 were found in Bhaktapur and 58 were confirmed in Lalitpur.
Moreover, some 1,069 cases of COVID-19 were confirmed across the nation on Tuesday, taking the national tally to 40,529 including 22,178 cases of recovery and 239 death cases.
